As tax regulations evolve, SaaS companies face increasing pressure to comply with mandatory electronic invoicing standards—especially in regions like the European Union. E-invoicing is no longer just an efficiency upgrade; it's becoming a legal requirement.
Meteroid helps you navigate this shift seamlessly by generating structured, compliant e-invoices that are both machine-readable and human-friendly—without disrupting your billing operations.
What Is E-Invoicing?
E-invoicing (electronic invoicing) is the digital exchange of invoice documents between a supplier and a buyer, using a standardized format that enables automated processing. Unlike traditional PDFs or paper invoices, e-invoices follow a structured format (typically XML) that can be seamlessly interpreted by accounting systems and tax authorities.
This process is particularly important in jurisdictions like the European Union, where specific e-invoicing standards are mandated for businesses to comply with tax and reporting obligations.
How Meteroid Supports E-Invoicing Compliance
Meteroid is designed to support e-invoicing from the ground up. Here's how:
Factur-X Format Support
Meteroid supports Factur-X, a hybrid standard that combines a human-readable PDF with a machine-readable XML file. meteroid currently supports the “Basic” profile of Factur-X, which meets the needs of most B2B invoicing use cases.
📌 Note: By default, Meteroid generates standard PDF invoices. To enable e-invoicing in Factur-X format, please send us an email to hey@meteroid.com
Country-Specific Delivery Options
Depending on countries, Meteroid can automatically send e-invoices to your Partenaire de Dématérialisation (PDP) (mandatory in France as of September 2026) or directly to Tax Authorities.
For specific integration support by country, please send us an email to hey@meteroid.com.
