Launch Week Day 4: filter your events, preview your usage

Donatien Dubois

Two upgrades to the Metrics and Events sections make usage-based billing more precise, and, at last, easy to see, explore and understand. First you filter out the noise. Then you explore exactly what you’re about to bill, right inside Meteroid — no external BI required.

Metrics explorer showing usage broken down by customer over time

  • Filter events — only count what matters. Include or exclude events by their properties (region, status, anything on the event) so a metric measures exactly what you mean.
  • Preview & explore usage — once your events are ingested, explore them directly in Meteroid and split usage by customer, before it ever reaches an invoice.
  • Made to dig in in real time — properties auto-discovered, values autocompleted, quick statistical summaries, and a direct link through to the customer behind any usage.

Getting started

  1. Define your billable metrics — set your event code and aggregation type in the Metrics section.
  2. Send your usage events — via our API or SDKs, or via CSV.
  3. Explore your usage — preview and break down consumption by customer, right in the Metrics section.
